Sarah Gitchell is Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Content Acquisition at Comcast Cable. In this role she provides legal support for programming and retransmission consent agreement for all Comcast cable systems and for new media rights and strategic multiplatform initiatives. Sarah has been the lead attorney on a wide variety of deals, ranging from multi-billion dollar contracts with large media companies to single station retransmission consent deals, in addition to video-on-demand deals with a broad assortment of content owners. She also manages litigation and policy issues that touch the Content Acquisition group, including program carriage complaints.
Shortly after joining Comcast Cable in 2005, Sarah became the lead attorney for the Company’s Content Acquisition group which licenses billions of dollars of content every year. Prior to joining Comcast, Sarah was an associate in the Corporate and Securities group at Dechert LLP in Philadelphia, where she focused on mergers and acquisitions, in addition to securities work.
Sarah received a Juris Doctorate degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Class XXIII of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute, is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and Comcast’s Women’s Network – an employee resource group.
Sarah resides in Philadelphia, PA with her husband and two daughters.
